Nani Career
Nani, originally Ghanta Naveen Babu, is a renowned Indian actor, producer, and TV presenter prominently active in Telugu cinema. He gained inspiration from filmmaker Mani Ratnam during his college years. Initially aspiring to be a director, Nani’s journey took a different turn when producer Anil Kumar Koneru gave him a chance to work on the movie “Radha Gopalam” (2005) as a “clap director”. He then worked on various films like “Allari Bullodu” (2005), “Astram” (2006), and “Dhee” (2007). Nani temporarily left the film scene to work on a script and during this period, he accepted an opportunity as a radio jockey, hosting a program named “Non-Stop Nani” on World Space Satellite.
Nani’s breakthrough came with “Ashta Chamma” (2008), where he was noted by director Mohan Krishna Indraganti. His performances in movies like “Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu” (2010), “Ala Modalaindi” (2011), and “Eega” (2012) gained him acclaim and recognition. Nani’s acting prowess was particularly praised in movies like “Pilla Zamindar” (2011) and “Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu” (2012).
Despite a few unsuccessful ventures, Nani’s career witnessed a resurgence with hits like “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy” (2015), “Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha” (2016), and “Gentleman” (2016). He continued to make his mark with films like “Nenu Local” (2017), “Ninnu Kori” (2017), and “Middle Class Abbayi” (2017). Nani’s career witnessed both successes and disappointments with films such as “Krishnarjuna Yudham” (2018) and “Devadas” (2018). He regained his momentum with movies like “Jersey” (2019) and “Gang Leader” (2019), both receiving positive responses. In 2021, Nani starred in “Shyam Singha Roy” and “Dasara”, both receiving mixed-to-positive reviews and box office success. His journey continues with his commitment to his craft and a growing legacy in Telugu cinema.
